Licences
The STOXX indices are protected through various intellectual
property rights and unfair competition and misappropriation laws. We
have registered, among others, the signs STOXX, EURO STOXX,
EURO STOXX 50 and VSTOXX as national, international and European
community trademarks. These trademarks enjoy a high reputation among
participants of financial markets in Europe and beyond.
The use of our intellectual property in financial products such as
certificates, notes, bonds, OTC options, warrants, mutual funds,
ETFs and insurance policies requires a licence. The licensee is
granted the right to lawfully issue, sell, engineer, promote or
otherwise commercialise such products and to use our trademarks
in informational materials such as advertisements, websites,
brochures or prospectuses. STOXX grants licences for single issues
and for unlimited issues within a period of one, two or three years.
The prices may vary depending on the product and the assets under management.
The data comprised in the STOXX indices is sold via Deutsche
Börse AG, Germany, and via specialised data vendors. However the
subscription to such services does not cover the use of an index
for a financial product.
