STOXX Limited (hereinafter referred to as 'STOXX', 'we' or 'us') is committed to maintaining the privacy of personal information that you provide to us when using stoxx.com. This Privacy Policy describes how we treat personal information received about you when you visit stoxx.com.

1.   Information we collect
1.1.   When you visit our website as an unregistered user, no personal data about you are collected by us. Only the current IP address of your computer, date and time, your browser type and computer operating system along with a record of the pages on our site which you access is logged. It is not possible to identify you as a person from this information. The data about your visit to our website which we store automatically in log files is used purely for statistical and security purposes or to improve our website.
1.2.   When you contact us directly or when you subscribe to MySTOXX, we will collect personally identifying information from you that namely include your name, employer, position, address, email address, phone number and your intended use of stoxx.com.
 
2.   How we use personal data
2.1.   We may use personal data in the following ways:
  • to provide you with News and Reports according to your subscription;
  • to provide you with information on new or existing products and services of STOXX and Dow Jones Indexes;
  • to allow us to personalise the content of stoxx.com.
The second purpose mentioned above implies that we may track and analyse your use of stoxx.com. Our representatives may also contact you personally to provide the respective information. Such information may not be directly related to the News and Reports you subscribed for.
2.2.   We may use Swiss Financial Market Services, Deutsche Börse and Dow Jones & Co. and their employees to provide services on our behalf and share your data with these entities and their employees for this purpose. These third-party service providers are located in Switzerland, Germany or the United States. Their employees are working from offices in various countries within the European Union. By registering to stoxx.com, you consent to the transfer of your data to these providers and their employees. In the event of a data transfer to the United States, contractual arrangements will guarantee a level of data protection which is equivalent to Switzerland and the European Union.
2.3.   Our employees and the employees of the third-party service providers mentioned above are obliged to respect data confidentiality.
2.4.   Except as specifically set forth in this Privacy Policy, we will not share your personally-identifiable information outside STOXX unless we first notify you and offer you a choice to opt for having your personally-identifiable information shared with a company that is not affiliated with us.
2.5.   To the extent legally permitted, we may also use and disclose personally-identifying information in special circumstances where it is necessary to enforce our Conditions of Use (for example, when necessary to protect our intellectual property rights). We may also disclose or use your personal information when the law requires us to do so.
 
3.   Cookies
3.1.   A cookie is a string of information that is sent by a website and stored temporarily in your computer's memory. Cookies can recognise previous connections to our website by your computer; cookies can identify your computer. You can delete the cookies stored in your system file at any time.
3.2.   We employ cookies technology to facilitate quick login procedures and to personalise the website's contents. If you delete the cookies from your computer, you will be asked to type in your username and password again. In order to access MySTOXX, cookies should be enabled in your browser configuration.
 
4.   Security
We have implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures, such as limiting access to the data to authorised personnel only and storing data on a secure server, to protect the security of these servers and your personally-identifiable information against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction and access by unauthorised persons. Our security procedures are continually enhanced as new technology becomes available.
 
5.   Transfer of server
Our server is currently located in Zurich, Switzerland. If you are located outside Switzerland, please note that the information you provide to us will be transferred to Switzerland and that by registering for news emails or for being able to download data, you consent to this transfer and the storage of your data in Switzerland. Please note that we may relocate our server or transfer your information to Germany or to the United States in order to provide you with our services and email notifications. Germany has data protection laws which are equivalent to the Swiss standard. In the event of a data transfer to the United States, we provide for a level of data protection which is equivalent to Switzerland and to the European Union. By subscribing to MySTOXX, you also consent to such transfer of our server.
 
6.   Review and correction
You may review, update, correct and delete the personally-identifiable information that you have provided to us by accessing your profile in MySTOXX, or by contacting us by phone at +41 58 854 5400, or by postal mail at STOXX Limited, Selnaustrasse 30, CH-8021 Zurich, Switzerland. Upon request, we will inform you in writing what personal data we store as defined by applicable law.
 
7.   Policy modifications
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes here, so be sure to check back periodically. You will find the date that the policy was last revised at the top of this Privacy Policy.
 
8.   Links to other sites
Through links located on stoxx.com, we may make content or services available to you from other websites (including affiliated or co-branded websites) not operated or controlled by STOXX. These other websites are not subject to this Privacy Policy and STOXX is not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of these other websites (including affiliated or co-branded websites). We recommend that you review the privacy policy at each such website to determine how that site protects your privacy.
