Join Us at the Qontigo Investment Intelligence Summit on Dec. 9

Qontigo’s annual Investment Intelligence Summit will be held on-line on Dec. 9, bringing together a strong line-up of presenters in what promises to be a thought-provoking debate.

The theme this year is sustainable investment. It couldn’t have been any other way: other than lockdowns and vaccines, there is hardly a topic that is so high in the mind of investors and financial-services providers right now. The extraordinary events of 2020 have done nothing but accentuate its relevance.

This year’s conference also merges the previous annual events of two integral parts of Qontigo: Axioma and STOXX. Both summits have grown year on year, and the synergy will enrichen the experience.

At Qontigo, this year we have significantly enlarged the environmental, social and governance (ESG) footprint of our products and services. Highlights on the indexing side include the launch of ESG versions of the EURO STOXX 50® and DAX® indices and the introduction of a full-fledged family of indices marrying factors and ESG. Many of these successfully underlie funds and derivatives.

On the analytics side, Axioma’s tools have helped a growing volume of assets gauge ESG risks and exposures, both in passive and active portfolios. There will be new and innovative possibilities here very soon, as we are working to incorporate ESG metrics into our multi-asset risk products, portfolio optimization and construction, risk models, and research. Stay tuned.

The event

Qontigo chief executive officer Sebastian Ceria will kick off a full day of presentations and panels, divided into European and US afternoon sessions.

The first half will start with a discussion among seasoned speakers from Meridiam, APG and the Principles for Responsible Investment on what shape sustainability is taking in Europe. We’ll then get the policymakers’ perspective and hear about the role of the Network of Central Banks and Supervisors for Greening the Financial System (NGFS).

Finally, ‘Ask the Expert’ breakout sessions augur exciting conversations with thought leaders from Amundi, PGGM and Eurex.

In the US session, we’ll first hear from the World Bank’s Katya Gratcheva on how sustainability factors are permeating the portfolios of sovereign bonds. We are also pleased to have sustainability experts from two of the world’s largest money managers — LGIM and Invesco — who will discuss the practical applications of climate change and climate risk into investments.

Other breakout sessions will allow an exchange of ideas with special guests from Northern Trust Asset Management and BCI, covering income and sustainability, and sustainable development goals (SDGs). Our own Olivier d’Assier from Qontigo’s Applied Research team will present a fascinating study on what it costs investors to make the transition to a climate-aware portfolio.
