DAX Equity Indices: Methodology Changes and Simulation Reports
STOXX Ltd. will be changing DAX equity index methodologies, which will become more aligned with the methodology of STOXX indices. This transition implies changes to the index calculation framework and a new set of DAX index data files is generated. In addition, the distribution of DAX index data reports will be migrated to the STOXX distribution system.
Learn about the new DAX equity indices’ methodology and calculation by visiting the documents below:
- Overview of Methodology Changes
- DAX Equity Index Methodology Guide (see also Overview of methodology guide changes)
- DAX Equity Index Calculation Guide (see also Overview of calculation guide changes)
The changes will come into effect on Monday, March 18, 2024 (and as indicated in the DAX equity index methodology guide, changes to the DAXplus Maximum Dividend index will come into effect Monday, May 13, 2024).
New Report Distribution Approach
To provide an opportunity for DAX licensees to familiarize themselves with changes to the distribution of index reports, STOXX will offer a simulation phase. From Monday, December 18, 2023 until Thursday, February 29, 2024, STOXX will release DAX data reports on a daily basis on this website, enabling DAX licensees to test the revised format. Further information on the new files format is available in the following documents:
Please note that any files provided in the section below during the simulation period is TEST DATA and therefore NOT REPRESENTATIVE of live DAX equity indices. Official DAX equity indices data remains available only in the current index data distribution system (MD+Si) until March 2024. The transition from MD+Si distribution service to the new data distribution service is described here. The MD+Si distribution service will be decommissioned after close of business Friday, March 15, 2024.
