Summary
The iSTOXX Europe Select High Beta 50 Index monthly selects those companies from the STOXX Europe 600 that are about to payout a dividend and have shown a high beta historically. In a first step a EUR 25mln liquidity filter is applied. In the next step the remaining companies are sorted by their volatility and the top and bottom fifth is removed. From the companies left those with a beta with the EURO STOXX 50 higher than 1.5 are removed. Next the companies are sorted by their beta in decreasing order and the top 125 (large beta) build up the selection list. From this selection list the 50 highest ranked companies which are going to pay a dividend during the next review cycle are chosen as index components. If less than 50 companies are going to pay a dividend, the highest ranked companies which are not paying a dividend are selected to complete the index. All stocks are equally-weighted.
