ZUG, September 1, 2020 – Qontigo today announced the results of the regular annual review of the STOXX Blue-Chip Indices, among them the STOXX Europe 50, EURO STOXX 50 and STOXX Nordic 30 indices, as well as the results of the second semi-annual review of the STOXX Eastern Europe 50 Index. All changes will be effective with the opening of European markets on Sep. 21, 2020.

Changes made to the blue-chip index series are being announced today after the conclusion of the regular annual review. The review is based on the blue-chip rules published on www.stoxx.com using the September 2020 blue-chip selection lists. The selection lists are based on the stocks in the corresponding benchmark indices and their free-float market capitalization as of Aug. 31, 2020. The component selection lists that are used for the 2020 annual STOXX Blue-Chip Index review are based on the Industry Classification Benchmark (ICB). According to the new ICB framework, effective as of September 21, the EURO STOXX 50 will be based on 20 Supersectors instead of the current 19.
